Alnmouth beach offers wide sandy bay at the mouth of the River Aln. You will find the picturesque village of Alnmouth to the north with a selection of shops and cafes.
This beach offers no restrictions to dogs (or Horses!) but isn’t recommended for swimming or water sports due to the currents you will find as the river meets the sea. There are areas where even paddling is warned against, though these are clearly marked.
The beach becomes quieter the further south you travel where you will find sand dunes and can spot a wide range of different bird species.
