Tanfield Railway is a heritage railway, where one can smell the steam. Not to mention, the great sounds coming from the trains too. There are four main stops on the line East Tanfield, Causey Arch, Sunnyside and last but not least Andrews House Station, the main focus of this listing

The staff try their best to accommodate when possible. Furthermore, there is a wide selection of events to book for. Further information can be found at their website by clicking here.

Accessibility at Andrews House Station

From the car park there is a ramp down to the station and from the station three is an accessible route down to the engine sheds so one can look at the engines.

Furthermore, the café is level making it accessible for wheelchairs. Not to mention there is one accessible toilet. Although staff are not trained to work with those who are neurodivergent, they are happy to help whenever possible and to the best of their ability.

However, there is no braille  large print menu in the café the staff are happy to describe what is available.
