Arnside Beach is located on the east bank of the Kent estuary and is part of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beach offers sweeping views across Morecombe Bay, and the undulating landscape of the Lake District towers over the horizon.
The beach itself is famous for its quicksand and fast-moving tides, and we recommend that you refrain from walking along the beach without the expertise of a local guide.
Every few weeks, a fast-moving tidal wave sweeps across the beach. People know the wave as ‘The Bore’ and an alarm sounds 15-20 minutes before the wave is due.
