The castle opened 2019 to public. It was built in 12th century it was a manor house that was converted to a castle Bishop Bek and he built the defense wall around the castle and chapel.
The castle is based in Bishop Auckland market place where The Mining Art Gallery and The Spanish Gallery in the same area also owned by Auckland project.
