This is a new venue that is based in Spennymoor, furthermore it is an Axe Throwing Activities Centre also owned by 2 brothers called Chris and Callum, and it is a place where you can throw an axe as a fun, sporting activity.

Things to do at The Axe House

This axe throwing activities venue in Spennymoor is perfect for throwing parties (as well as axes) for special occasions including:

Little ones can throw an axe with supervisor permission, and young children can also go free with a paying adult. There are also activities for young children including throwing soft axes and nerf guns.

The atmosphere is very fun and exciting. You can also listen to Classic Rock Music like ACDC blasting from speakers in the venue.

There is a vending machine selling refreshments including a coffee machine selling coffee and other hot drinks.

The Axe House also has a fully-licensed bar selling alcoholic drinks including different rums and other spirits as well as draught beer and wine and also soft drinks.

They also have 8 axe throwing lanes where you can have competitions with each other. Each of these lanes can be booked online by clicking here. People have a choice of different axe throwing lanes to book, including standard, UV (ultraviolet) and the VIP area.

Other similar activities include knife throwing which also take place in the axe throwing lanes.

There is an instructor that will show you how to throw the axe correctly and ensure everyone is kept safe by following the Heath and Safety rules correctly.


It is an autism friendly place, there are quieter sessions during the day time but can be busier on weekends and evenings.

The axe throwing venue has an upstairs space which is inaccessible for wheelchairs, however a lot of the activities are downstairs including the bar.

The parking is available right outside the venue unit. The nearest bus stop is a 5 minutes walk from the axe throwing venue.
