Children North East is a charity that assists babies, children and young people across the north east.
They support the following client groups:
- Pregnant women and babies
- Parents and children up to 2 years old
- Children and teenagers
- Families of children and teenagers
- New mums
- New dads
- Families at risk of poverty
- People at risk of domestic abuse
- Children aged 5-16 who have experienced domestic abuse
- Schools
The ways in which they help:
- Advice on pregnancy and babies including, how to detect choking, a guide for new dads on babies, guide for parents on toddlers
- child safety,
- support
- mentoring for young people
- counselling and talking therapy
- groups and courses
- working with people at risk of poverty to reduce the effects in areas such as the school and healthcare.
- working with schools, including mental health support, advice for educators and family support
