Cullercoats Bay is a small, sandy beach, enclosed by piers. A great beach to visit if you wish to swim due to the protection offered from the North Sea in the bay and backed by small cliffs.
Though sandy you will find rock pools and caves to explore at low tide, and there is a promenade running the length of the beach to a children’s play park at the south. You can park at the northern end of the beach, and there is access via Metro too. There are plenty of amenities in the town of Cullercoats.
