Dobbies is a chain garden centre company. The Carlisle shop sells a wide selection of indoor and outdoor plants. With helpful staff on hand, all of your gardening questions can be answered! As well as hundreds of plants, Dobbies also stock garden tools and equipment, decorative pots, and garden furniture. Similarly, they have a delightful homeware section of household essentials and kitchen equipment. Furthermore, they have partnered with a few local businesses who can help customers build sheds, conservatories and supply pond/fish tank supplies.

Furthermore, Dobbies has a small shop (currently housing a Waitrose) that stocks many basic foodstuffs. If you would like to dine in, they have a large café selling a range of hot and cold food and drinks, from light lunches to full meals. They also serve a range of scones and cakes with a large variety of coffees and teas. You can eat in or outside and they also have a soft play (pre-booking advised) and outdoor play area for children to enjoy!

Accessibility:

Dobbies Garden Centre is entirely level access with wide aisles for manoeuvrability. Passing from the indoor shop to the outdoor garden section requires no steps. Equally, the café and play area can be accessed easily.

The interior of Dobbies is well lit. The atmosphere is comfortable and staff are friendly. There is typically quiet music playing and customers talking but it is a quiet locations. The plants provide plenty of sensory experience, customers are welcome to smell and touch all the plants on display. Dobbies is not overwhelming and is a good location for a trip out with children or family members.

There is a large car park with designated parking spaces by the entrance. Dobbies resides just off the A595 by Orton Grange, between Wigton and Carlisle. There is a local bus service that takes customers to the garden centre.
