Eden Camp museum is a place that holds a lot of history. Unlike most museums where there are items behind glass however this museum is different moreover this museum wishes for you to go back in time and see what it was like before in the Eden Camp.
Built in 1942 with the sole purpose to hold prisoners of war Eden camp came to be. The first 250 prisoners grew to hold 1200 prisoners at any time. In the summer of 1944 the prisoners that where Italian gave way to Germans. The prisoners where put to work locally in agriculture. The camp was lived in from 1942 to 1948. They where all released three years after the war ended.
The Huts was purchased in 1985 by a man named Stan Johnson. In the same year he realised it was still mainly intact and thirty-five where still there and in the same condition as when the last of the 1200 prisoners where there. Stan invested £750,000 to create a modern history theme museum.
