Falconry UK is a birds of prey centre in Thirsk. The centre has been established for over 25 years and has one of the biggest flying birds of prey collections in the North of England! The centre was founded in hopes of preserving birds of prey and teaching the public about them. Click to find out more about their conservation efforts! Please note, the centre is only open from March 1st until October 31st. Bird displays are also weather dependant.
The centre has a fantastic collection of over 70 birds prey made up of 32 species, including:
Walk around the centre and view each of these brilliant birds on display. Travel around the enclosures and learn about each species! Are you wanting to get closer and see the birds in action? Well, bob along to one of the birds displays!
The displays take place in the centre’s arena which is bordered by the gorgeous Yorkshire countryside. Watch the birds swoop and dive above your head while the staff tell you about each of them! The displays take place 3 times a day, with shows taking place at 11:30 am, 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
Feeling peckish? Why not visit the onsite café? Grab a hot drink and a snack to eat in a warm and welcoming environment. Not only does Falconry UK have a café but it also has a gift shop that sells awesome souvenirs!
Falconry UK is not only educational and fun but it’s accessible, too! All the paths taking you around the centre are fully accessible and disabled parking is also available.
Toilets and baby changing facilities are also onsite.
