What is Hart Gables?
Hart Gables is a non-profit support service for the LGBTQ+ community in Tees Valley. Originally founded in 1997 as ‘The Rainbow Centre’, it has worked hard to celebrate diversity. Not only this, but the service has worked hard to promote inclusivity and diversity across Tees Valley. It works with partner organisations to achieve this. Support and information are also provided by Hart Gables. Their website also features helpful resources for the LGBTQ+ community.
What are their aims and services?
Their main aim is to develop a safer and more inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community. It also aims to help LGBTQ+ community members lead rewarding lives. It does this by offering 1-to-1 support for individuals. Additionally, the service offers a number of support groups across Tees Valley. Information about the support and available services can be found here. They pride themselves on the support they have provided for over 10 years, and have supported thousands in this time. Featured on their website are anonymous testimonies by people who have used the service.
As part of their mission to spread inclusivity, Hart Gables offers training to a wide variety of nationwide companies. This is done through their fundraising project, LGBT Advance, which raises awareness of the LGBTQ+ community. It also helps companies be proactive by ensuring their space is LGBTQ+ inclusive.
Hart Gables also organises events. Click here for further information about events.
