Helmsley Castle

Helmsley Castle is a 900-year-old castle turned Tudor manor in the picturesque Yorkshire Moors. Visitors to Helmsley Castle can explore a fun interactive exhibition in the manor house. While exploring the grounds, listen to the audio that takes you through every piece of the property including the stunning bronze archer statues that line the castle entrance. With plenty of space to move around, Helmsley Castle is an excellent trip out for families wanting to explore the historical past of the Yorkshire Moors.

The exhibition illuminates the ordinary lives of residents through fascinating archaeological finds such as early tableware and domestic items. Additionally, the exhibition takes you through the military importance of Helmsley Castle particularly through the Civil War years.

As well as the grounds, there is a gift shop that sells a variety of themed souvenirs. There are also picnic tables for you to pause and take in the Moors. Why not enjoy a cold drink or an ice cream from the shop while you rest?
