Hexham Old Gaol tells the history of crime and punishment from 1033 to the Victorian era.  Why don’t you come and have fun watching your family members call out for help whilst thy are locked in the stocks. Whilst you are learning about the infamous Reviver family you can also try an array of helmets and see which one you feel would be most protective. Whether you are with friends or family.

Accessibility at Hexham Old Gaol

The museum is well equipped with lifts and ramps. This being a big help to those in a wheelchair. Furthermore, audio described tours can be bought. Unfortunately, the staff are not specifically trained to help those who are neurologically diverse. Despite this hey are willing to support in any way they can. You will find a good accessible toilet within the Gaol.
