Houghton Hall garden centre is an expansive garden centre and café on the outskirts of Carlisle, near Houghton. Here, customers can peruse a wide selection of gardening equipment and plants in their three-floor building. As well as plant, Houghton Hall also stocks a large range of outdoor furniture, homeware, and gifts for any occasion. Travelling downstairs into the basement will take you into an excellent quality craft shop and The World in Miniature Museum. The small museum is perfect for young families and you can admire tiny train tracks and houses that bring to life a range of scenes. Furthermore, there is a food hall and butchers that supplies fresh, high quality produce from local vendors. You can also explore their pet section, where Houghton Hall sells a range of supplies and you can even spy some animals for yourself; including rabbits, hamsters and fish!
After all the exploring and shopping, you can take a break in their delightful café. Here, you can choose from a variety of hot and cold dishes, drinks and sweet treats. There is indoor and outdoor seating allowing you to admire the remaining architecture of old Houghton Hall. Similarly, by the café is a outdoor play area for children including elaborate climbing frames, slides and plenty of sand!
Houghton Hall Garden Centre is a popular location for lunch and shopping with customers in the local area. While you can visit all year round, Houghton Hall is decorated marvellously during the festive season and stock an impressive assortment of decorations and trees for customers to choose from.
