What is Hutton in the Forest

Hutton in the Forest is a historic house and gardens located in the north of the Lake District in Cumbria. The owners bought this house in 1605 and even is claimed to be 250 years older then that.

What is there to do?

Firstly over summer they host different outdoor events that you can find a list of using [link]. Here is a few of the events that are on the 2023 season list:

  • Airfield Walk with Heather
  • Wigton Dog Trails
  • Classic Cars in the Park

  • The Stone Hall 
  • The Cupid Room
  • Lady Darlington’s Room
  • The Cupid Staircase
  • The Drawing Room

Lastly there is a gardens and woodland walk. The gardens has a collections bulbs, herbaceous plants, annuals and roses. There is also a low garden that has ponds with a wild flower meadow. The woodland walk is trough mature hardwood that are over 200 years old and a mixture planted by Inglewood and his father
