King Edward’s Bay is a small, sandy beach provided by shelter by cliffs around the bay. This is a popular destination for families.
Well there is walking along the beach enjoy the sea. There is another beach close by called Long Sands Beach that is quite a bit bigger and is close to Tynemouth park. However something much close to the point you see it from the beach and is normally what people combine there trip to the beach to do at the same time is visit ruins. The ruins are of Tynemouth Priory and Castle. There is a listing for the ruins and you can find it using [link]. Another thing you can do is visit the Tynemouth Lighthouse that is a decent walk out but has a really nice view of the sea. There are also few shops a short walk into town.
Dogs are not permitted on the beach from 1st May to 30th September and there are no dog bins at the beach. And parking is mostly along the roadside.
