King Edward’s Bay is a small, sandy beach provided by shelter by cliffs around the bay. This is a popular destination for families, often combining the trip with a visit to the historic Tynemouth Priory and Castle which overlook the bay.
There are a few shops a short walk into town. Dogs are not permitted on the beach from 1st May to 30th September and there are no dog bins at the beach. And parking is mostly along the roadside.
