The Museum of Archeology is owned by Durham University and displays collections from the prehistoric era to post-medieval! This is also free entry to all visitors.

Further, Durham’s Museum was first opened in 1833 and holds a rich history! Why not explore this rich history and learn more immersively about the world of archaeology?

What can you see at the Museum of Archeology?

The main focus of the museum is the North East of England. Most of the items you can find at the museum were excavated by the department of archaeology!

Although parking is not available it is available on request. It is best to contact the palace green security office at  +44 (0)191 334 2222

Additionally, a platform lift is available.

A portable hearing loop is available.
