Located in Sportcity, Manchester, The National Cycling Centre hosted track cycling events during the 2002 Commonwealth Games. The multipurpose cycling venue contains the Manchester Velodrome, a BMX arena, and the 12km Clayton Vale mountain bike trails.
The centre offers an extensive programme of activities for all levels of ability, and beginners can use the same track that elite athletes train on. Access BMX is an inclusive session for people who have additional needs (physical & learning disabilities and SEBD), and attendees can choose between a BMX, a mountain bike, and specially adapted bikes such as hand bikes and trikes. These fun sessions take place on Tuesday evenings from 18:30-20:00 and they cost £3.
