What is Ryhope Engines Museum?

Ryhope Engine Museum is a old pump station that use to supply water to Sunderland

What is there?

There is events that happen that you can go to their website for when they are happening. The events are called steam days and can be found using [link]. There are also things to check out such as:

  • 3 Lancashire boilers
  • Blacksmith’s forge
  • Waterwheel
  • Numerous steam engines
  • Pumps
  • Waterworks accessories

History 

The pump was built in 1864 by a man named Thomas Hawksley. And for the reason I don’t wish to spoil the journey and the reason to go to learn the history i wont mention more but if you want you can check out [link] for more information.
