Tucked away in Skipton, is one of Britain’s best-preserved castles. Skipton Castle is over 900 years old and has a rich history, that is linked with the Clifford family.
The Castle is open to visitors, meaning you can explore its every nook and cranny! Why not brave the depths of the dungeon or climb to the top of the Watch Tower? From the top, you can overlook the stunning Skipton Castle Woods!

Due to its age, the Castle has uneven surfaces and spiral staircases, etc, limiting its accessibility. As a result of this, the Castle has handrails because of this and staff ask that visitor’s wear suitable footwear. However, The main grounds of Skipton Castle, the shop and tearoom are accessible for those with limited mobility.
Parking for Skipton Castle is available at the Bailey Car Park.
Toilets are near the tearoom but please note, disabled toilets and facilities are not available onsite.
