South Marine Park was designed by Matthew Hall. Later in 1886 John Peebles was appointed head gardener and set out to create the park we know of today. He also had a diary that proved very useful while restoration of the park.
There are a few activity’s that they have on such as a art trail where visitors to the park can follow around a trail of art that feature ten sculptures. The local school children work with artists for the art trail. A example depicts a magical mythical creature who the children imagined what may have lived in the park.
The park has a attractions that appeal to younger kids as the park is complete with water features. and a climbing frame. The park also has a mini steam railway that goes around the park. for more information on the railway you can check out their website with [link]
