TalkAway Therapy is an independent speech and language therapy clinic based in north Cumbria. TalkAway Therapy specialises in offering support to adults who struggle with communication or swallowing following a stroke or an acquired brain injury. Therapy is delivered by Lindsay King. She is a specialist speech and language therapist who can provide support, advice and assessments. King qualified in 1987 and since then has worked in hospitals, clinics and nursing homes. Over her career, she has developed specialisms in cognitive communication disorders, dysphasia, and dysarthria.
In a session at TalkAway Therapy, clients can be guaranteed a client-led approach. King uses the newest evidence based research into her practice in order to most effectively help her clients. After a referral, clients will receive a free 15 minute telephone consultation. Following this, King will request a one hour face-to-face assessment to go over case history and support needs. She will create a written report of her findings for you. After this, you will receive tailored one-to-one therapy sessions. These sessions can be in person or online and will provide clients with updated reports and support as time progresses.
Referrals can be made on TalkAway Therapy’s website, here.
Following the initial session, therapy can be online. This allows for clients with accessibility issues to fully access King’s therapy in a manner that works for them. Alternatively, King can travel to your home for the sessions.
TalkAway Therapy’s person-led approach prioritises the your needs, you should get in touch with King for further information about what she can offer.
