None of these taking your fancy? Not to worry! Tees Barrage has lots more fun things to do. As mentioned, Tees Barrage is situated on the River Tees, and it is surrounded by stunning wildlife. Stop for a picnic, relax on a bench and soak up some sun, or have a wander along the river. The gorgeous scenery is perfect for an afternoon walk with your furry friends! The walk along the river is also relatively flat, making it perfect for bike rides! By following the river, you’ll come across Teessaurus Park, another fun-filled adventure! For nature enthusiasts there’s Portrack Marsh, a nearby nature reserve.
Feeling peckish after some awesome watersports or after your afternoon walk? Visit Café Rise at Tees Barrage! The café is in the main centre building. Also in the main centre is the reception, changing facilities and lockers. Similarly, there’s a watersports shop in the main building which sells the latest boating equipment.
