Thackray Medical Musuem is a place that shows off the history of healthcare.
The musuem holds a over 70 thousand items. Items that include objects, catalogues, archives and books all of which are about the history of medicine and healthcare. They also host talks, plays and events and everything they do is to pay tribute to the health heroes and generations of inventors. It all started in 1997 where it first opened in the former Leeds Union Workhouse building. There was also help in opening by the heritage lottery fund. It also became a leading independent medical museum and in April 2018 it was awarded a National portfolio by the Arts Council England.
