Tucked away in West Burton, Wensleydale, is the Cat Pottery. The Cat Pottery is a workshop that has been creating magical Moorside Cats since 1982. The Nichols family has ran the studio for two generations and together they’ve crafted hundreds of amazing cats. Each Moorside cat has their own name and is unique in its own way! Step into their workshop and watch them craft with specially selected grogged clay to bring the cats to life!
During the summer months, the workshop is open to visitors for limited hours and asks anyone travelling a long way to contact them. This is because the workshop may close at short notice. Their usual opening times are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:30 am- 3 pm.
The Nichols family has been crafting Moorside Cats for 2 generations. Each cat is individual and has their own name, adding to the magical artistry of the cats. The workshop crafts different kinds of cats. Each cat is glazed and hand-decorated.
