If the double tree hotel was a person in terms of its practicality for the customer visiting York, it would be Mary Poppins holding a measuring tape to herself and proclaiming that she was perfect in every way.
The double tree is situated within walking distance of Yorkcitycentre and many of its tourist attractions. For example, the York chocolate experience is only 10 minutes.
away. Upon entry you are greeted with a quiet reception area. However, there is relaxing music playing quietly in the background of the reception area. The clear flooring and dark wood finish of the recaption desk gives almost an automatic feeling that this is going to be a posh luxurious hotel. The food and especially the breakfasts are fabulous.
The York bar and grill is extremely cosey to sit in and can serve people out in the courtyard garden. The Hilton double tree hotel offers a pet friendly environment and the room certainly had sufficient space for her to stay comfortable. I really enjoyed using their 24-hour gym room. Whilst I did 30 minutes on the treadmill there was other gym equipment to choose from. For example, there were spin bikes, a cross trainer and a rowing machine. The staff are very friendly and do their utmost to keep up the good work. I feel Shure that they would look forward to welcoming you in with the customary cookie.
The entryway is defiantly large enough to allow a wheelchair through and through out the hotel there was a sufficient number of ramps to help access all areas. Chairs can always be moved to accommodate the needs of others. Dog bowls are provided almost everywhere within the hotel which helps those with a guide dog. The bedrooms are wonderfully spacious. Walk in showers are available for those who need them. Within those showers seats are also provided. As with most dedicated assessable toilets they do have help me pull cords within the bathroom if you should ever get stuck.
