The Old Engine House is in an old fire station house nestled in the West Walls of Carlisle. A quiet but popular location, the café is cosy and welcoming to its many customers. They serve a range of light bites, lunches, scones and cakes. The Old Engine House offer a wide range of coffee and teas as well as a selection of sweet treats such as milkshakes!
The café is small and comfortable and away from the busy part of the city centre. It is a very short walk up some stairs from the West Walls car park. However, it is close to the centre of town, a quick walk down the street will take you into the centre with several options for car parking, bus transport and the transport just a few minutes away.
The Old Engine House is a small café with limited seating. However, it does have level access and chairs can be moved to make space for a wheelchair.
It is a light and comfortable location although it can get busy at peak hours. Visiting during a quieter hour will allow for the experience to be relaxing and stress free.
