In the many years that it has been there Waldridge Fell has seen it’s fair share of events. From extensive coal mining to a military training ground. Furthermore, it is a place where finding a variety of scarce and rare insects and plants can be seen.
Beautiful walkways through extensive lowland heath, scenic views, and ideal for dog walking. Free car parking is just off the main road (a couple of different sites). There is two easy access routes that can be used during your time at Waldridge Fell. One route is circular around North Fell, the other being a more linear path. The second route links the Ellen Street car parks and Tinkler Row. However, throughout some of Fell’s paths and tracks there are some large stones which can be an issue for some. Not to mention, some of these paths and tracks are narrow so make sure to take caution when traversing them.
