Where once stood a colliery now stands a landscaped, wildlife haven.
This large country park has an array of habitats, including wildflower meadows, grassland, scrub, reed bed and woodland areas. All areas attract a wealth of notable wildlife.
There are paths around the park and leading to the sculpture that overlooks the park, and the park welcomes walkers and cyclists alike.
It is free to park here.
The main tracks through the reserve are level and well-surfaced, accessible for wheelchair users and pushchairs
