For a creative day, there is the National Glass Centre. Here you can get involved with glass blowing demonstrations, stained glass workshops, and flame-worked glass insects. There are also permanent exhibitions, courses, and digital resources which are all free and the National Glass Centre is fully accessible to everyone.

The Sunderland Museum and Winter Gardens is home to the oldest known vertebrate that can carry out gliding flight. The free-to-enter museum offers an art gallery and pottery gallery for you to have a look around.  Sunderland Museum and Winter garden are easy to get around as they have stairs and lifts for all floors and pre-booked wheelchair hire is available free of charge.

For a variety of different activities, Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness centre is the place for you! With a state-of-the-art gym, swimming pool, tennis court, health suite, and exercise classes, there is something for everyone. The centre is very accessible with 8 disabled parking bays, pool hoist, lift to viewing balcony, and two dedicated changing rooms.

For another physical activity, Sunderland Wall offers a range of climbing-based activities. As it is one of the largest indoor climbing facilities in the UK, it has 3 23 metre walls for you to climb, as well as offering courses for adults and children, birthday parties, and corporate events.
